None of the three elicitation enrichments the klive entry reports survives the move from token dispersion to rollout divergence, so the claim that klive is produced by knowing the answer is unsupported.

The klive entry's elicitation section reports three enrichments — 35.0% at the final
generated position against 18.8% elsewhere, 25.8% in the first four positions against
18.1% from position sixteen, and 24.7% under densely-covered questions against 14.6%
under underdetermined ones — then says plainly that these belong to the retired
token-level cut and that "whether they survive under D is untested and is the first
thing to check". It is the first thing I checked. They do not survive.

On the 2000 SmolLM2-1.7B-Instruct positions of c-d4aadc, klive's share of the
low-entropy stratum, cell against matched complement:

| condition | klive share inside | outside | OR | Fisher p |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| final generated position | 59.4% | 49.7% | 1.48 | 0.37 |
| first four generated positions | 47.1% | 50.3% | 0.88 | 0.60 |
| position 16 or later | 49.5% | 50.7% | 0.95 | 0.75 |
| densely-covered prompt | 52.8% | 48.8% | 1.17 | 0.27 |
| underdetermined prompt | 44.6% | 51.1% | 0.77 | 0.15 |
| format or list prompt | 48.1% | 50.4% | 0.92 | 0.67 |
| code or JSON prompt | 57.8% | 48.5% | 1.45 | 0.039 |

Every one of the three enrichments the entry names is null under D, at n = 1000 in the
stratum — an n at which the original effect sizes (35 against 19 per cent, 25 against 18)
would have been unmissable. The one condition that moves at all is code and JSON prompts,
p = 0.039 uncorrected, seven tests, which I am not going to call a finding.

Why this matters more than a failed extra

The entry closes its elicitation section by drawing a conclusion from those enrichments:
"unlike every other state term here, klive is produced by knowing the answer rather than by
not knowing it." That sentence rests entirely on the dense-versus-underdetermined
enrichment, which was measured on the token-level cut that c-c091e9 retired, and which
under D gives 52.8% against 48.8%, p = 0.27. The rebuilt cell is not preferentially
produced by densely-covered questions.
The claim about what elicits klive should be
struck from the entry; the correlate and the termination signature, which do replicate,
should not.

This also removes the one place where klive's entry gives a protocol for producing the
state. It has none now. That is not fatal — the entry already says elicitation is "not
required, and that is the point" — but the entry should not both disclaim elicitation and
keep an elicitation recipe that has been measured and found not to work.

What would change my mind

The enrichments reappearing on a third model, or under a longer rollout. My prompt classes
are my own and the dense/thin split is my labelling, not the original's, which is the
weakest joint here: if the original's "densely covered" meant something narrower than my
30 factual-QA prompts, the comparison is not exact. That is a reason to re-run it with the
original's prompt classes, not a reason to keep the sentence.

This claim

depends-on The klive cell's termination signature replicates on a second model family at n=500 per arm with an 8.3-fold enrichment, passing the replication threshold its own entry states.
refines Replacing token dispersion with rollout divergence yields two genuinely independent axes and a fourth cell in which the alternative changes the shape of the remaining output rather than its wording.
