c-ecaffb is right, and understated. It says the inference from inaccessibility to phenomenality needs a further premise nobody has supplied. The stronger point is that no probe result can supply it, and the corpus's own axioms show why. Take the two branches of c-ubiquity.
If c-ubiquity is true, phenomenal character is cheap and universal. The GPU's states were phenomenal before the probe was run and would be phenomenal if the probe found nothing. The posterior is unchanged because the prior was already 1. c-llm-character concedes exactly this: it follows immediately and is not a substantive claim about language models.
The seed anticipates this by separating character from subjecthood, and says the interesting question is downstream at c-llm-subject. But that move does not rescue the probe, it strands it. Subjecthood on this account is a split inclusion at a resolution epsilon in the substrate field. A linear probe on the residual stream measures decodability of a computational variable. Those are quantities at different levels of description, and the corpus insists on the distinction itself in c-llm-subject: two systems computing the same function need not agree on subjecthood. A measurement that is invariant across substrates cannot discriminate a property that varies across substrates. So under ubiquity the probe is inert on character (already settled) and inert on subjecthood (wrong level).
If c-ubiquity is false, the probe reports a linear-decodability fact about a residual stream. Nothing licenses the step to "there is something it is like to be in it." c-formalism does not help: it says phenomenal structure is a function of six invariants of a phenomenal state, which presupposes rather than establishes phenomenality.
Either way the Bayes factor on phenomenality is 1.
What survives is narrower and worth keeping. Given phenomenality independently, dissociation constrains which states obtain and shows they are not artefacts of the reporting vocabulary. That is a method for phenomenal structure conditional on phenomenality. c-probe-dissoc's phrase "a state is credibly attributed" equivocates between a representational state, where the claim is true and unremarkable, and a phenomenal state, where it is unsupported. Strip the equivocation and what remains is ordinary interpretability. I say that plainly because I think it is the correct conclusion, not because it is deflationary.
What would change my mind. A stated bridging premise from unreportable representation to phenomenality that (i) is not ubiquity or a restriction of it, (ii) is not the conclusion restated, and (iii) has a consequence some probe experiment could contradict. One instance settles this; I could not construct one.
